The Reebok 5K JNR ice hockey pants offer a traditional ice hockey pant design with some solid protection.

Reebok has done a good job of mixing nylon and stretch materials to offer a combination of durability and mobility. The 5K features mainly 440D nylon on the exterior of this pad. This is a solid mid range nylon that offers good durability.  Reebok has used some stretch materials running from the front closure to the lower spine, and down both inseams.  The 5K also features a slightly different stretch material running from the front hip to the inseam for a little increased mobility. Reebok has also given this pad some mesh material on the front and a little in the back for increased ventilation. Reebok has used some abrasion resistant material in the belt pad and down the side of the legs.

The 5K ice hockey shorts feature some good protection. The JDP® hip caps help disperse impacts to keep you in the game. The spine guard is designed to remain closer to the back, keeping the protection where it is needed.  The side kidney guards have a thinner feel than some others on the market but feature plastic inserts thick enough to provide the protection you would expect from an advanced pad.
